This day marks the start of another long weekend. And it has been quite loaded and jam-packed. In the morning, I took off to meet a friend and did some window shopping that almost became a legit shopping (self-control in check). But I still grabbed a pair of shoelaces that will activate my Flash-themed sneakers.
Together with my awesome friends from church, we watched Heneral Luna. Of course, I don’t want to spoil it. So, let me just rate it from 1-10: 9/10. Yup. I mean, if you watch it, you won’t fail to notice how epic it is––cinematography-wise, musical score, overall story, character development, among others. I was like: “Ohhh, so that’s what really happened! / What?! Are you serious? / Wait. Is that real? / Wow.” The director is definitely bringing back hope to the Filipino film industry.
After watching the movie, we went to this bacon-centric event at the Fort. Thus, the photo above. Sadly, it stormed really hard. So, we weren’t able to enjoy it as much as we could have had. But the food was worth it: bacon takoyaki, slow roast beef, roast chicken, pasta––well, you see where I’m going. It was a feast. And the bacon garnished in chocolate and marshmallows? Well, it was certainly worth the wait despite the heavy downpour. (One of my friends was even interviewed by the local media with our whatever-it-takes attitude just to get the bacon!) What a way to cap off the day, and kick off the long weekend. Surely had a great time, especially with great company.
How do you spend your long weekends?
